Vernal Light in Yosemite – May 18-21, 2017

0.00

Thursday through Sunday, May 12-15, 2016

Note: Click on this link yosemite.org for sign-up information. I'm only an instructor on this trip (and I'll serve you a dynamite breakfast).

This year looks like we're going to have an amazing spring in the park, with fantastic waterfalls, a raging Merced River, reflection ponds (thanks to the massive winter and spring rain and snow), plus the usual maximum texture on the famous cliffs from the lower angle of autumn light. As usual, we'll add locations that include both intimate landscapes and iconic landmarks, exploring fresh ways to see the crown jewel of the national park system in the U.S.

As part of this memorable exploration of the park, we'll make some easy walks, we'll take at least one shuttle bus ride, and we'll visit areas outside the Valley by car.

We'll also have one or two evening sessions, learning to how to combine the night sky and the landscape below, and we'll look for unusual optical phenomena.

Co-leader: the iconic Ken Rockwell.

This trip is sponsored by the Yosemite Conservancy. For details and to join the trip, go here.

Note: Sign-ups for this trip must be made through the Yosemite Conservancy; they can't be made through Image Quest via this webpage.
